CHILDREN'S PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

My artistic inspiration always has came from my own three children. They are all incredibly close in age, Jack is 15 months older than the girls but they all are so unique in spirit. Their mannerism, expressions and differences set them apart as individuals. My goal as a photographer is to capture your children this way too - to create simple portraits that celebrate who they are, as individuals.

The thing I love about working with children of all ages is that they are always themselves, unapologetically. Their innocence and lack of self awareness makes it so fun for me to get down on their level and make the connection needed to create their portraits. I start every session by greeting the child, and have genuine conversation with them. This helps bring out their personalities. My goal is to create unforced images of your childs unique personality

In the end I hope these portraits are hung on your walls and enjoyed for many years to come.

THE INNOCENCE OF CHILDREN IS WHAT MAKES THEM STAND OUT AS A SHINING EXAMPLE TO THE REST OF THE WORLD.

 WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

Here are my best tips when choosing outfits:

Choose something that is classic.
  1. My goal is to create a timeless portrait that will look great on your walls for many years to come. So whether it's a dress, a denim jacket, or even a white t-shirt, go for something that will stand the test of time.
  2. Muted/Neutral colors are best (navy, cream, gray, light pink, olive green, etc.)
  3. Avoid super bright/neon colors, or clothes that have logos or words.
  4. Consider texture! It adds a simple layer of interest to the portrait without being too distracting (lace, cable knit, chambray, wool)
  5. The most important thing you can do is be sure their faces are as clean as possible, as this is where all of the focus is going to be!
